Built in 1939, it received its final U-shaped appearance during World War II. Kalin’s statues of miners stand on the façade at the entrance to the building, and next to the building there is a small park, with a memorial to the exiles, campers and stolen children from Trbovlje. Since its completion, the building has served as a center of local government, although it came to life as the Municipality of Trbovlje only after the Second World War. It even received market rights only in the period between the two wars, by decree of King Alexander I.
