TRBOVLJE – PODMEJA – MRZLICA – TRBOVLJE

There are two routes to Podmeja, past the Trbovlje basin via Čeče or to the end of the valley via Gabrsko. We drive on asphalt, which in the higher part turns into a well-maintained macadam road. We keep to the road that leads us to the mountain lodge on Mrzlica, which offers daily fresh food and accommodation. On the way through the landscape park we can stop for a moment at the beautiful vantage points. Those who are more patient, quiet and with a lot of imagination, you may also see an indigenous inhabitant of the mountain. This is where the green man lives. That’s what they say. And that the mountain was supposed to be hollow, filled with water. A dragon is said to live in its bosom, a giant white snake flies along the banks, and a witch haunts it around on a broom. The peak of Mrzlica reaches 1122 m above sea level and is also called ”Knapovski Triglav”. From fine weather, the view extends from it all the way to Snežnik, Nanos and the Julian alps with Triglav. Below us stretches the Savinja Valley and Zasavje.
