If anyone else thinks that grayness reigns in Trbovlje, they are quite wrong. Our city is surrounded by hills and green areas from all directions. The share of NATURE 2000 sites in the Municipality of Trbovlje is 39%, which means that there is no shortage of greenery. We are also surrounded by two landscape parks, the Kum and Mrzlica Landscape Park.
\n<\/p>\n\n A city marked by industry is now looking for opportunities in technology and new media. The most recognizable event in this field is the annual festival of new media art Speculum Artium, which has already hosted prominent names in the field of high technology (Hiroshi Ishiguro, Honda Robotics), as well as artists who use them in their creation (eg Stelarc). Also worth mentioning is the Digitalbigscreen art video festival, which presents selected video products on the large projection screen of the cinema hall. Throughout the year, the New Gallery of the Workers’ Home presents new projects to the public in the field of new media cultural content.<\/p>\n\n Many famous musicians and cultural figures have Trbovlje roots. Among them are Laibach, the band Hi\u0161a, Red five point star, Eurovision representative and actress Tanja Ribi\u010d. We can’t forget the top art and dance ensemble En knap, the award-winning Workers’ Band Trbovlje, which has been performing for more than 100 years, and of course the poet and writer Tone Seli\u0161kar with works such as: Brotherhood of the Blue Gull, Trbovlje collection, novel Tr\u017ea\u0161ka cesta. In Trbovlje, the local Janez Knez, the initiator of the annual working meeting of Ex-tempore Art Kum painters, was also creative here. The fa\u00e7ade of the Cultural center of Trbovlje is adorned with a mosaic by the sculptor Marija Pregelj, for whom the author received the Pre\u0161eren Award in 1958, the highest state award for achievements in culture.<\/p>\n\n Sports fans will surely find something for themselves in the seven-kilometer-long valley and its surroundings. In addition to mountaineering, the steep hills are more than suitable for downhill mountain biking, as they enable high speeds, overcoming natural obstacles and long jumps. The most persistent mountaineers can go to the “Zasavje Triglav” Kum, where a three-hour walk will reward you with a beautiful view all the way to Triglav, Pohorje and Sne\u017enik.<\/p>\n\n 1.
