In the past, Trbovlje was marked by numerous industrial plants, especially mining. Today we are searching for opportunities in new technologies and knowledge. The train takes us from the direction of Ljubljana or Zidani Most to the railway station, and from there, there is a regular bus connection through the city. You can also rent our e-bikes <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/trajbi.si\/\">TRajBi<\/a><\/strong> at the train station, which will take you to the city center in just 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>By road, access to Trbovlje is possible from different directions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From the direction of Ljubljana along the Zasavje road along the Sava, via Trojane and Zagorje or via Morav\u010de and Zagorje;<\/li>\n<li>From the Maribor \/ Celje direction and the Savinja valley via Podmeja, via Trojane and Zagorje or through Hrastnik, and from here on to Trbovlje via Ostenk or along the Sava river along the Zasavje road.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recently, the road connection has improved considerably.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;2_3&#8243; The writer L. Mrzel wrote decades ago: \u201cWhoever was once at home in Trbovlje, will find it difficult to find another homeland under the sun, why everything that he has experienced beautiful, good and miserable in this queen of our black valleys will go with him to the end of life. The word Trbovlje has always remained as a bright memory, as a hidden hope of his heart, as his only, last goal. In the word Trbovlje, there is really enough program for the whole of human life. \u201dTrbovlje, once a black valley, is today a place with lots of greenery, flowers and sun. The place gained economic and other importance especially after 1849 when a railway was built from Celje past Trbovlje to Ljubljana and further into the world. It is also important that in 1873, the Trbovlje Coal Mining Company was founded, which connected smaller coal mines of various owners. Geological research has shown that in the Zasavje area lies a large stock of quality brown coal, a real coal wealth.<br \/>\nIntensive two-hundred-year mining has thus changed the image of the place in many ways. Coal was also mined on the surface. Such daily or surface coal mines were found in Dobrna, Ne\u017ea, Lakonca, Bukova gora, Retje and elsewhere. The formerly cultivated areas, together with the farmers, retreated before progressive mining. The original peasant image of Trbovlje faded over time and the place was transformed into a mining and industrial center.<br \/>\nIn recent years, the city has been getting a friendlier face and is also becoming more interesting for tourists.
